Rolling Hoop and Stick - Traditional Outdoor Hoop Game

Children have been rolling hoops since the days of the ancient Greeks, and the pastime flourished in North America from the colonial era through the 19th century. Whether trundled along for quiet, solitary play or raced competitively among friends, the rolling hoop remains a beloved heritage toy that encourages coordination, balance, and active movement.

We bend our hoops in our Vermont workshop using lumber from locally sourced hardwood trees and the same steam-bending techniques we rely on for our musical instruments.
