Bilbo-catchers were included in the "curious" assortment of toys advertised by early American merchants, and still described as a favorite in children's books through the late 19th century. Also known as a bilboquet, the bilbo-catcher is a toy of the cup & ball family, where the ball is tossed and must be caught on the tip of the spindle by a hole drilled in the ball.
NEW MODEL We have returned to our original mode bilbo-catcher, where the ball can be "spiked" on one side and caught in a cup on the other side. Our solid wood 5" long spindle is turned exclusively for us here in the USA; we then attached the solid wooden ball by string, and each toy is packaged in a poly bag with a history and instruction card.
Not intended for children under 8 years of age.
WARNING Toy contains a small ball, not for children under 3 years of age
